Pets Habitat is a family owned &
managed business, with owners present at the store seven
days a week.
When I came to UAE some 13 years ago, I adopted my first
cat and started working as a volunteer with Feline friends
in Sharjah. I enjoyed participating in rescue, neuter &
release program & homing of stray animals. However, most
rescued kittens or cats ended up staying with me. At one
time, we were feeding a colony of some 50 cats and found
it beyond our budget to buy enough food. So we decided to
import cat food directly from Thailand. This was the start
of my business in 2004, out of sheer necessity to feed our
cats. The business gradually grew, I believe, due to
blessings of our animals, and here we are, running a pet
store and pet products import business today. Our house in
Sharjah is home to 14 rescued cats from the streets, 2
rescued dogs and almost a hundred other animals including
snakes, sugar gliders, hedgehog, tortoises, a cockatoo and
many others. In addition, I have a colony of some 25 cats
& some 5 stray dogs around our front and back yard that
are fed twice daily by my dedicated staff at home.
So, first and foremost, I’m passionate about all animals.
Cats, dogs, reptiles and more. At times, I feel that I
value animal life more than humans as I feel that animals
depend on us and that it is our duty & instruction from
God to take care of the animals around us. In addition to
cats and dogs, I personally got really fascinated by
exotic reptiles and imported many species of non-venomous
snakes. I bred many collubrids successfully and consider
myself somewhat of and expert in snakes based on my
experience.
My business is an extension of my beliefs and I feel it
has provided me a good platform to try & bring in some
reforms into pet trade in Dubai. As a company, it is our
policy to interview, consult & scrutinize our customers to
ensure that each individual or family is willing and able
to provide suitable environment, living space & the
passion needed to own a pet. This is my humble attempt to
reduce abandoned animals on Dubai streets & we expect our
customers to understand and cooperate with us.
In return of this scrutiny and assurance from our
customers, we guarantee to provide strictly ‘Home-bred’ &
healthy pets while ensuring that we do not encourage any
form of cruelty to animals even inadvertently. As a result
of our carefully selected associations, we are able to
guarantee our puppies and kittens WILL NEVER be purchased
from puppy & kitten mills. We have hired retired and
active vets in EU who will select our animals ‘only from
home based breeders’. All our pups & kittens will be
backed by our 30 day warranty against any life threatening
serious deceases or viruses. Read more about this in
